I.Manpower
professional and administrative development
a.In-service
training for the union's administrative staff and other
employees to raise their efficiency and performance
particularly on the use of computer.
b.Periodic
training for kindergarten teachers and supervisors.
c.Upgrading
kindergarten facilities in cooperation with the
charitable societies.
d.Providing
training for volunteers in charitable work.
e.Coordinating
and cooperating with universities, colleges and other
institutions to realize the goals of the union.
II.Local
community
a.Coordinating
and cooperating with local communities in all national
and social occasions of common interest.
b.Raising
women's level of performance in all aspects of life:
health, educational, social and environmental. This is
in addition to focusing on her role in society and her
active participation in building national institutions.
III.Early
childhood
a.Participation
in child educational development programs in cooperation
with the Ministry of Education.
b.Raising
children's health standards through health educational
programs for families.
c.Cooperating
with experts in child education by inviting them to
lecture on child-related issues.
d.Encouraging
establishment of children's libraries and holding
exhibitions for children's activities.
e.Encouraging
member societies to mark national and international
events related to children, families and awarding prizes
to gifted children.
IV.Rehabilitation
of the disabled
a.Encouraging
the local community to establish societies and
rehabilitation centers for the disabled.
b.Cooperating
and coordinating with the Palestinian General Federation
through the National Central Committee for
rehabilitation of the disabled.
c.Collecting
data and other studies related to the disabled cases in
the northern districts and the country in general.
d.Cooperating
with other counterpart societies and centers to upgrade
the level of services provided to the disabled.
V.Adult
literacy education
A higher committee for eradication of illiteracy and
adult education was established in cooperation with Bir
Zeit University. This committee began its activities in
the Palestinian rural areas. It has mainly focused on
women. Then it extended its services to other areas and
other groups. It has considerably reduced the rate of
illiteracy in the Palestinian society. Participants in
its literacy educational courses have been awarded
certificates of completion signed and stamped by the
Ministry of Education. Some have completed preparatory
stage whole others have completed secondary stage.
After the advent of the PNA, the committee was
reshuffled by the Arab Scientific, Cultural and
Educational Organization (ASCEO). The Palestinian
General Federation has taken its place on the committee,
thus participating effectively in the literacy education
project given its importance for the Palestinian
society. |
